harry potter inspired
for my friend
she's a teacher from slytherin. she teaches the defense against the dark arts. this time her lesson is to think of a powerful happy thought the Patronus Charm. this is her demonstrating how to do the magic.
about the patronus:
it is an Amphisbaena
" The amphisbaena has a twin head, that is one at the tail end as well, as though it were not enough for poison to be poured out of one mouth."

so it is basically a snake with another snake's head for it's tail. later drawings about the amphisbaena often show it with two or more scaled feet, particularly chicken feet, and feathered wings

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactI feel very lame for even writing a critique because this is so awesome.
I love everything about it- you did a great job on the highlights and nothing gets obstructed from the dark background. The colors are absolutely wonderful (bright vivid) and you have so much value in this piece that it is eye catching.
The Patronus is a nice touch and helps to brighten up the piece. It is a nice contract against the dark background.
Thanks to the Patronus your eye is drawn to the bottom of the piece, but having the Patronus wrapped around stormys leg brings your eye up to the figure of Stormy.
Her figure is oddly stanced, but I feels that adds to the piece. It is whimsical, quirky, and over exaggerated.
You've even used some very wonderful textures. The wings on Stormy look dirty and metallic, and the scale texture on the Patronus is absolutely wonderful!
Honestly there is not a thing about this piece I would change. When I first saw the "work in progress" it was only black and white but the lines in the piece were very descriptive (the lines in the clothing hair and hat). If I remember correctly it even had a steam punk feel to it. I had loved the WIP so much that I was critical of you coloring it, but I have to say it turned out amazing!
And I am not just being overly generous with my critique- I honestly believe it is perfect.
